Traditional postage stamps
Current events, magical landscapes, Swiss specialities – Swiss Post’s physical stamps are many and varied. On an area of just under 10 square centimetres, each stamp tells its own fascinating little story about the culture, flora and fauna, personalities, events or customs of Switzerland. Use them to add a touch of style to your letters. Stamps are little messages that inspire emotions, draw attention to important subjects – and show the recipient a great deal of appreciation. For Swiss Post, stamps and philately are extremely important. New stamp sets are issued four times a year, and a total of around 50 new motifs are released annually.
The current stamp issue, available at branches and on postshop.ch from 6 September, is dedicated among other things to special occasions such as birthdays, weddings and anniversaries. Happiness is the theme of two of the stamps, while the other two remain neutral. All four include a subtle reference to the subject of letter mail – recognizable only at second glance – with the common optical denominators of paper, cardboard and the written word. As a special bonus, you will find several free stickers on the sheet, which you can use to embellish your letters and give your friend, sister or parents a special surprise.
